Holy f*#%

I'm in love with the ambience man. Holy crap, that intro was superb.

Really looking forward to the full version, you two. This is a major tune judging on what I've heard so far. Absolutely no criticism here, just two thumbs in the air.

I demand a PM when the full version's done. :3

Jenni-Harry4eva3 responds:

Full version is already done lol. Just not posted here ;3

Oooo, nice.

Well, you're going for dungeon themes and this one is very fitting to your description. Although this doesn't make me think of Zelda. You know what this makes me think about? Golden Sun. Seriously, you've totally capped the style of that soundtrack and made your own track with it. Some of the synths sound really similar, yet distinguished. Taking that, it has a nostalgic feeling for me without ruining the suspense. Very, very good job.

I personally think there are to many stretched out melodies in this track, some faster-paced melodic work would go well I think.

Percussion is tiiiiiight! That's really outstanding in this track and it's thoroughly mixed. Good job!

Overall, creepy. But not to creepy. Just good for a RPG game so all in all, well done.

SupraDarky responds:

Ahh Golden Sun, such a great game. :) I see why it would remind you of that game though, you're right. I'm glad you like the percussion since that took quite some work. Thanks for the review!

Ehh..

Meh, it starts out real good actually. The first few seconds were good, but then you add arps and white noise that TOTALLY sound like Sytrus presets. :-/

I think what would've worked better is some very clear drums over the synth after 8/16 bars and go from there.

Remove that arp. >.<

You've done better. :f

Rucklo responds:

well, all synths are crafted from scratch, so there's your sytrus-presets...

if this woulod have stayed in the game, i most likley would have worked it out a bit more, but meh it was rejected for a reason. :)

Noo, that's a bad melody. :C

Using the standard kick and snare samples from FL. I've noticed you've done that in every track of yours so far, and I would've expected that you knew better by now. :3

Other than that, it's quite a catchy melody and it's good to see how you're improving in your synthwork. The gated sort of synth coming in midway sounds really nice. :-)

As i said, a nice catchy melody. But please use some original samples, or at last other stock samples. :)

Phyrnna responds:

I know I know. xDDD I started this track on a computer that only had FL Core so hence I used those for the percussion. I'll change those later on.

As for the other tracks, I've actually used a decent number of VEC stuff. o__o

Thanks for the support nonetheless!

^_^

That's pretty kewl. :3

Yeah I think it's a nicely made loop.

There's a few things I would've changed though. That's making either the flute or bass play longer notes, because they sound so flat if they both play short notes.

But other than that I think you pulled this off nicely.

FairSquare responds:

Well, actually there are some strings in the background that play long notes. But i think you're right, it does sound flat, so thanks for pointing that out to me :-)
Thanks for the review, i really appreciate it. Expect a review on one of your tracks too, but it may take a week or so.

Woah.

The intro melody was slightly recognizable, but not entirely spot-on. It honestly doesn't matter cause when the riffs hit you seriously blew my fucking mind away. Talk about energy, DAMN.

Not much to say. Have a 5, LOL.

Metaljonus responds:

Yeah, it's not entirely spot on but its something like it lol.

Sure I'll spit over this!

Lols. ;p

Has a wicked beat man. Lovin' it. I'm not really sure about the strange choice of melodic synths. They sound so dark and draining. They go together well with the bass though, so it's all good. I imagine it would be harder to rap over this because it's not any ordinary hip hop beat, but props to whoever's creative enough to come up with some lyrics.

I think this could turn out to be a massive tune. Keep it up Ruckflow.

Rucklo responds:

weird synthwork is what i'm all about man :D

i got some rapping coming up for this tune right here, and it's some kickassrhymes by a kickass rapper, so this could turn out to be pretty wicked in the end!

and of course the final product will be ALOT more versatile and worked over, this is hardly a skeleton, i need to cover it with muscles, skin, blood and a brain.

thanks for the review man, great feedback right there!

Quite decent, it lacks some drive though.

At first I was going to write that the percussion in the start was off, since it has an usual time structure, but after listening to it a few times it starts to fit more. What really helps is when the kick comes in, that gives the track some more power.

I'm not at all a fan of the strange bass that comes in around 0:15. It sounds so lo-fi and distorted in a bad way. Think I recognize the preset from somewhere aswell. ~.~ But nevermind that if you didn't use a preset, hehe. :P

I think you should remove the bass. Instead, have a slightly distorted bass and add some sinewaved subbass for the feel together with the 4x4 kicks.

Good use of Rig's samplepack, though I'm not really a fan of the scraping cardboard sounds. ._. But that's my taste I suppose.

Pretty nice outcome for a quickie. ;) If you're planning on continuing with this track, I would suggest that you throw in some more percussion that's panned all over the place when the melody comes in. The percussion as it is right now is just *slightly* lacking.

~ La_Yinn, --'

Swerve responds:

Thanks for your review!
That strange bass there is a really basic reese thrown together in like 10 seconds. It's not a preset though! ;) I only use presets as a starting point to edit further. I never use them raw. But this one was synthesized with 3xOsc.
I don't know if I'm gonna continue it.. I don't know if it has potential enough to make into a full fledged song. Ah well, I'm gonna try atleast. Thanks for the tips n review.

Swerve.

Would you look at this...

Heh, you are good. I'm assuming you did all the voices yourself. and with that assumption, I must say: Very, very impressive.

There's some feedback in the background, it might be because your mic isn't to good, or because the recording is to soft/the recording program is bad.

But jeez, that's all about I have to say. There's 5 different voices and they all sound like they represent their personality. That's an extremely difficult task.

Glad I checked this out. Hope to hear more from you. I wonder, can you sing too? :3

rednikaiaG responds:

Hey it's la-yinn, comin' at meh with da complimentz! *bows down in acknowledgement to making all 5 voices myself*
You are so sweet and thank you greatly for the review.
People rarely seem to take the time to review OR vote now.
They will listen all day long but. . . enough of my incessant rambling on about it, I digress. Yeah, as for the white noise in the BG, sorry, it was my first and I will continue my efforts at NOT submitting crappy sounding clips again.
Thanks again for taking your time to do so and to answer your FABulous question, YES I CAN sing. (AT least I think so anyway. Heh heh heh *clears my throat and hums a few octave scales*) I still have to submit a few more samples showing my higher pitched voices and then I'll be working up the ovaries to show you guys a little of my musical finesse as well. Ha, pshyeah!
I have a sh*itload of sarcastic, essentially waste of time, mockery tunes but I suppose I could sing something *holds both hands up and makes the International sign for parentheses* "normal" too. Listen, I am really grateful you stopped and gave me a shot. If you ever need ANY voices, PM meh, ah-ite? I will ceratinly TRY ANYthing for ANYone, ANYtime. Until next time. . .

..........Take care, be good and let me know why
you asked about the whole singing deal, I'm curious now.period

it sounds like a story.

Especially because of the start, man. I'm digging this. Some heavy riffs, good progression. I'd be all over this if I had a better mic, but alas..

There's not really much to say on this one. Except I don't really like the stops after the chorus. But that'll probably sound a lot better with vocals.

9.5/10 (saving the 10 for the VMX version, hurrhurr)

Awesome track. \m/ Keep 'em coming!

~ La_Yinn, --'

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thank you very much. :D

I know, I'm thinking of reconsidering the stops and messing with the structure one more time...but...we'll see.
